THE dress vs. my mom's dress

THE dress

versus
Mom's Dress
When I saw the Fondant Tea Dress, I immediately thought of my mom. If you enlarge my mom's wedding photos here, you can see some of the detail on her dress.  Aren't they similar? Don't you get the same feeling? My mom's dress is not available, so I believe this to be a totally acceptable substitute.  Yay or nay?

Color Palette

I know it's been a while since I posted.  I've been incredibly busy with school.  But yesterday I did finally sit down for a minute and figure out a color scheme that I have my heart pretty set on.  My next few posts will be devoted to each color.

Tiffany blue will be the main focus, with soft peach adding a boost.  Accent colors will be fun, bright sunshine yellow and raspberry.  Perfect for a June wedding, right?

Bridesmaids Gifts

  1. Pandora Bracelet, Sterling Silver, Pandora Clasp; $55
  2. Pandora Charm, "Love Me", White Mother of Pearl; $50
Pandora bracelets and charms are something my mom got me into.  If you are unfamiliar with the idea, it's basically like an up-scale version of a charm bracelet.  I already have one full one at home, I'm about to need a new bracelet!  It's so much fun to collect the charms, which range in styles and materials (and price!!).  I thought maybe this would be a nice gift to my close girlfriends that I choose to be in my wedding party.

Ideas For My Dream Wedding (Part 5)

Thrifting List:

A tandem bike.  Definitely on my Wedding Day Wishlist.  So cute.  Picture via Caitlin Creer Interiors.

I'd love to pick up a bunch of quilts, like this one from QuiltsByBarb, to use for the table cloths, and to maybe put in the OOT/Guest Bags.  I probably need to get a head start on this part in particular, because I'll need so many and I am not sure how readily available they are.

Vintage tables and chairs, and other pieces of furniture.  Picture via Vintage Indie.

Vintage silverware, like this lot from OldOhioFarmFinds, would make a fun, eclectic addition to the table.  I'm going to have to scour the thrift shops for every piece I can find.

Cake stands of every size, shape, and color.  Picture via Inc Weddings.
